Planning to go further north for a short excursion? Coffee
and forest fog, anyone? Nestled in Carmen is a newly-opened coffee bar that’s
been getting good social media rap lately for its scenic view of pine trees,
mist, and drip coffee.
If you happen to pass by the municipality, check out Balwarte ni Vossing and Deer Forest.

Balwarte ni Vossing
On the way to Cebu Safari Park is Balwarte ni Vossing, a
food station offering coffee, food, and alcoholic drinks in a container van. It
is located by the side of the road in the Deer Forest area, so it is hard to
miss. Its soft opening on December 2020 was heavily hyped in social media
because of the picture-worthy backdrop: pine trees and the occasional fog if
you’re lucky to chance upon it.
They have two sitting options (all plastic chairs and tables): first one is at the roof of the container van, and the other one is at the back.
Just a caveat to everyone: They only cater to 50 percent of the capacity in compliance with the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) safety protocols.
For those who are planning to visit the place, expect delays
in their services as there is always a crowd due to social media hype, and
waiting time is estimated to be about 20 minutes. They are still working for
the expansion of the place.
