Cardinal Coffea
Cardinal Coffea is a specialty coffee shop and roasterie located near Capitol and Cebu Doctor’s University Hospital. Most guests who frequent the shop are already familiar with the breads and cakes from its mother company, Cebu Cardinal Bakeshop.
The café and the bakeshop are family-owned by Jennifer and Leewin Ong. Its interiors are picturesque with the minimalist design and industrial touches inspired by the couple’s travels. It is a perfect spot for those who want to have a quiet afternoon with a book and the café’s potted plants as company. The café, which can seat 30 people, is also ideal for a leisurely chat with a friend or two with as much passion for sweets as you.
Cebu Cardinal Bakeshop
This bakeshop is run by the Ong couple since 1999. Leewin, who was an engineer by profession, decided with his wife to give baking a shot – and the rest, they say, is history. Cebu Cardinal Bakeshop is popular all over Cebu City for its reasonably priced pastries and cakes.
Their most sought-after treats include cheese rolls with queso de bola which earned its 3rd consecutive Best Specialty Bread award from SunStar Cebu, chiffon cakes, and cookies. Passersby are familiar with the bakeshop’s signature smell of delicious pastries that are baked fresh every day.

Perhaps the hottest item on their menu these days is their ube chiffon cake for only Php450. They also have ube pandesal cake which you can get for Php300 a box.
