Enjoying a cup of coffee, brunch, or midday snacks at a
restaurant seems like no sweat, unless you want to bring your pets with you. Especially
in the city, it can get a tad bit fussy to have our furbabies accompany us.
People could be staring for both good and not-so-good reasons, not to mention the
staff of the establishment could politely (or not) shoo you away.
This takes away the enjoyment, plus it could make our pets
very anxious and in worst cases, traumatized.
That is why pet-friendly establishments are a godsend to us pet
owners. Not only are we free to have our pets as our date, they can also mingle
and meet pets from fellow furparents. These kinds of places foster a warm community
by virtue of the luxury they afford us of being able to bring our pets.
If you are tired of walking them around malls and not being
able to bring them inside the coffee shops, a trip up the hills of Tabunan to
check out Charlie’s Cup might be a good idea.

Charlie’s Cup is one of Cebu City’s latest attractions for
coffee and nature enthusiasts. It is named after the owner’s corgi, Charlie,
who is the inspiration behind the café’s cute logo.
It is an open-air café situated along Transcentral Highway
right before Balamban, and every nook and cranny of the place is very picturesque,
whatever the time of day is.
The place has a rustic theme, with glass and wood and metal
all over its architecture. Aside from the stellar design and view, perhaps its
best-selling element is the fact that it welcomes our furry friends. Since its soft
opening early this year, Charlie’s Cup has had many pet-bringing visitors who
are all too happy to be letting their furbabies meet other pets.
This cheery and bright vibe has also enjoined parents to bring their kids to the café which has an allocated space for children to play. It is especially beautiful here at sunset, and you would see an onslaught of breathtaking pictures of the café on Instagram and Facebook.
Charlie’s Cup is located right before the “Welcome to
Balamban” sign on the left side. They are also persons with disability (PWD)
friendly, and there is a wide parking space available. No entrance fee is
required.
Menu and services
Charlie’s cup has a variety of caffeinated drinks on their
menu. They offer americano, espresso, cappuccino, and iced latte. They also
serve Filipino snacks like champorado and other beverages like fruit teas and
lemonade. For those stopping here for brunch, they have all-day breakfast
options.
