Cebu is a top tourist destination in the country, especially during summer. There’s just so much to do and explore here, be it in the city or at the beaches. A lot of attractions has been built and developed over the years, and one that is making the rounds as of late is the biggest water park in Cebu that recently opened in December of last year.

WaterWorld Cebu is a 3-hectare complex with a lot of extreme and kid-friendly rides and slides.

Waterworld Cebu opening

Waterworld Cebu opened on December 14, 2019. It is located at Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City, Cebu — near the tip of Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Mandaue City. It has a 3-hectare complex that will hopefully  put Mandaue City at the center of tourism as it is the biggest water park in Central Visayas.

This is the first and biggest venture outside of Iloilo of the Eon Group of Companies, an Iloilo-based firm involved in real estate, hotel, and food manufacturing. The operations manager, Manuel Gruenberg, sees this undertaking as a means of bringing further the tourism investment of the country as well boosting job opportunities for the locals. The construction began in 2017.
